Cross Connection Control Hazard Assessments

Those who are registered specifically to attend the Cross Connection CEU Sessions must be present in the Zephyr classroom from 8:30 am-4:15 pm on Monday, August 29, 2022 to receive 0.6 Cross Connection Control CEUs. No non-registered Cross Connection CEU attendees will be permitted.

This presentation will give the attendees guidance to prepare for cross-connection hazard assessments in their water systems. It will discuss the training required, the tools and equipment to bring on a survey and develop strategies for prioritizing and assessing the facilities within their water system. Also, the session will discuss forms and other methods of record-keeping.

This presentation will be instructing on cross-connections found within landscape irrigation, and the risks they present. We will also cover the different backflow preventers approved for landscape irrigation, their installation criteria, and the plumbing code.

This demonstration and discussion will explore different computer software options for your Cross Connection Control Program. In addition, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) will be demonstrated for all the in-between work. Spreadsheets, data tracking, and notification letters can be daunting, but with the templates offered and the instruction given in this session, attendees will have a better understanding of how to accomplish these tasks.

This session will cover the five key elements for a successful Cross Connection Control Program. DDW staff will also demonstrate what is expected of our Cross Connection Program when they perform a sanitary survey on your water system.
