11/08 Weekly Newsletter

I hate to be the messenger, but I gotta tell ya - Fall is over, it’s holiday season. Shopping, parties, getting the house ready - all that stuff you hate to do is coming up (but on the brighter side - that’s why they invented Thanksgiving and football - sort of gets you through all that other stuff).
Speaking of seasons, another one, for those that need to renew their operator certification this year, has arrived - CEU season! Hopefully, if you’re due this year, you’ve earned those “continuing education units” in order to renew for another three years.
Depending on your level of certification, you’ll need to have earned either 2 or 3 since the last renewal date (January 1st is when the clock starts ticking). Grades SS - 2 for water, and 1 - 2 for Wastewater require you to earn 2 in order to renew, the remaining levels require 3.
CEU’s are earned by attending approved trainings at the rate of 0.1 per hour. You can renew online for both water and wastewater. If you’re in doubt as to your current status, you can also check that online as well (see links below).
If you find yourself in a deficit, CEU wise (we can’t do much for your bank account - shopping tends to do that), you can check our calendar for training opportunities coming up before the end of the year at - http://www.rwau.net/training-calendar

Nominate For An Award

Each year at RWAU’s Annual Conference in St. George, Utah, the Association presents awards to member systems, as well as system personnel who have done an outstanding job of running their water or wastewater system. Most awards are given based on performance in the 2017 calendar year. This is your chance to nominate someone who deserves an RWAU Award for their hard work – even if it’s you!
