Build Resilience to Extreme Weather Events — Free Training

Receive a hands-on interactive training to learn how to adapt to current and future extreme weather impacts on critical drinking water, wastewater and stormwater assets. Learn to use CREAT, a risk assessment application that helps utilities adapt to extreme weather events.

    • Drinking water, wastewater and stormwater utility staff and management involved with planning, operations, sustainability and risk management
    • Technical assistance providers
    • Local, state, federal and tribal government officials

Training Objectives
    • Share information about how environmental conditions and extreme weather events (e.g., drought and flooding) could impact drinking water, wastewater and stormwater utilities in the southwestern U.S.
    • Introduce EPA’s Creating Resilient Water Utilities resources and tools.
    • Begin the process of conducting a risk assessment using CREAT.
    • Identify and share information on adaptation strategies to build utility long-term resilience.
    • Overview of available resources for financing resilience and adaptation.

 

  • 0.6 continuing education unit (CEU) under the Operator Certification Program and 6 engineering CEUs available for participation
