JOB SUMMARY
This is a seasonal, non-benefited position with the City of Cedar Hills working approximately 40 hours per week from March - October. The Golf Irrigation Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining the golf course irrigation systems and reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent.
DUTIES

Operating, maintaining and repairing a complex irrigation system, including leaks on the distribution lines, valve risers, electrical system, computer and irrigation control wire

Performing preventative maintenance on the irrigation system

Determining wet and dry areas for adjustments of sprinkler heads

Maintaining proper inventories and stock of all irrigation parts and tools to minimize down time

Routinely inspecting irrigation system components to ensure system is operating properly

Performing other duties as required such as daily mowing, trimming and general golf course maintenance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Maintain a working knowledge of pump station maintenance requirements and prioritizing irrigation breaks

Utilizing safe work practices in job performance

Able to work in outdoor conditions and perform strenuous manual labor

Ability and skill in working as a team member
- Required:
- Two years of experience with large irrigation systems
- Preferred:
- Previous golf course maintenance experience
