• A valid Utah Driver’s License
• A high school diploma or equivalent
• A Utah Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within one (1) year of hire date
• A Water Distribution Operator Level 4 Certification
• One (1) year of construction, maintenance or repair of water distribution systems experience.

• You help promote and follow our mission statement, values and expectations
• You can help promote a positive attitude among department personnel and other contacts
• You can assist in maintaining, constructing, and installing main lines, service lines, fire hydrants, meters, wells, valves, pressure regulators, pump stations, tanks, etc
• You can operate various types of heavy, light, and complex equipment used in maintenance and construction of culinary water systems (i.e. ten-wheeler trucks, backhoes, excavators, high pressure machines, pipe threaders, hand tools, etc.)
• You can assist in monitoring city water well storage levels; assuring adequate water supply
• You can assist in work zone safety procedures; flag on-coming vehicles to protect the public and workers; set up warning signs and signalization equipment
• You can repair and install surface features damaged during system maintenance including landscaping, sprinklers, asphalt, concrete, etc
• You can respond to customer inquiries, requests and complaints regarding maintenance, leaks, and flooding involving the City’s drinking water systems and other related matters
• You can utilize maps and records during emergency situations
• You can conduct water sampling and monitor chlorine and fluoride levels
• You can re-read residential and commercial water meters as needed to monitor customer water usage and perform repairs when needed
• You have knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
• You have knowledge of blueprints and ability to perform basic mathematical computations
• You can communicate effectively both orally and in writing; follow written and verbal instructions; establish effective working relationships with employees and the public.

• You will frequently be walking, bending, climbing and lifting (up to 100 pounds)
• You will have frequent stooping and/or kneeling
• You will be required to be on-call on a rotating basis and for emergency situations (staying within a reasonable response time and answering phone)

• Frequent exposure to unpleasant or hazardous working conditions caused by water, noise, dust, heavy equipment, toxic fumes, traffic, heights, and high voltage equipment
• Frequent work in manholes and trenches
