Water System Superintendent

Performs a variety of managerial, system-operation, and regulatory-compliance duties related to organizing, directing, and coordinating day-to-day operation and maintenance of the City's culinary water system. Duties also include customer service interactions, work order response, planning, and managing budgets, managing and hiring personnel, coordinating with other Divisions, and first-line duties associated with all Water Division activities. Assists the Public Works Director and Assistant Public Works Director in establishing water system operation procedures and policies and defining the strategic direction of the Water Division.

A. Graduation from high school; plus, specialized training directly related to the above duties provided through professional workshops, in-service courses, or college; AND B. Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in a field directly related to the above duties; AND C. Certified by the State of Utah as an Unrestricted Water System Distribution Operator IV with Direct Responsible Charge, including Cross-Connection Control and Backflow Prevention or the ability to become certified within three months of hire. OR D. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered provided State operation certification requirements are met.
