Vineyard is located in the heart of Utah County and surrounded by breathtaking lakeside and mountain views with the Wasatch Mountain Range to the east and Utah Lake to the west. With the city rapidly growing at a current population of 20,000 residents, a new frontrunner station, a new downtown under construction, the city is in need to expand its operations.
The Public Works Department has a great opportunity for a seasoned operator to serve as Wastewater Crew Leader, responsible for leading the maintenance of the city’s wastewater collection system and work with partners such as Timpanogos Special Service District (TSSD) and Orem City. PRINCIPAL DUTIES
- Supervises wastewater employees and contract services regarding wastewater operations and repairs for the city’s 30 miles of wastewater lines and 3 lift stations.
- Operate jet-vac truck and other equipment related to maintaining sewer collection system.
- Maintenance of lift stations to ensure proper operations; including but not limited to monitoring flows, pump operation and SCADA.
- Operates computer and other electronic handheld devices using various software programs for record-keeping, report writing, communications, gathering GIS data.
- Provides excellent customer service to residents and businesses regarding wastewater operations and maintenance questions and status of repairs.
- Ability to work around hazardous environments utilizing appropriate equipment and protective equipment per OSHA standards and regulations.

Certifications:
- State of Utah Wastewater Collection Class III certification (Unrestricted) may fill as Class II or Class IV depending on qualifications. Must be able to receive Class III within one year.
- Valid Utah Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B, required, with tanker and air brakes endorsements.
Experience:
- 4 years of wastewater system maintenance and operations.
- Pre-employment drug testing and background check are required.
Availability:
- Ability to be on-call to respond and perform emergency repairs, after business hours, as needed.
