Q: My company/system is a member of Rural Water Association of Utah, but I only see "nonmember" tickets. What's wrong?
A: You must be logged in to the website in order to get the member discount. If you are having trouble logging in, feel free to e-mail admin@rwau.net for help.
Q: I am helping someone get registered for conference, which ticket should I choose?
A: It is important to know if the attendee is already certified in their field or needs to get certified. If the attendee is already certified, they are likely going to the conference for just CEUs, and in that case, you would select Regular Conference. If the attendee wants to earn even more CEUs, or if they need Cross Connection CEUs, you should select Regular + Tuesday Bundle. Now, if the attendee needs to get certified, you should select the Operator Certification ticket in Water, Wastewater, or Cross Connection Control.
Q: I need to get certified in water (or wastewater), which class placement should I pick?
A: It depends on your system's size and needs. Your supervisor or director should know which level of certification you need. Otherwise, you will need to ask DDW (water) or DWQ (wastewater).
Q: Is Tuesday part of "Regular Conference"?
A: No, Tuesday is an optional add-on ticket. For a discounted price, an attendee can select the Regular Conference + Tuesday Bundle and earn 0.6 CEUs more than if they had attended "Regular Conference".
Q: I have a large group of people to register, can someone help me?
A: Yes! Kelsey Johnson, the Conference Coordinator, has created a Bulk Registration Assistance Form for systems and companies sending large groups. You can fill out the form here.
Q: I need to make a hotel reservation, what day should I plan to arrive?
A: If you are registering for a certification course, you should plan to arrive on Monday around noon and check in to your hotel Monday evening. If you are registering for Regular Conference + Tuesday, you should plan to arrive at the conference center on Tuesday morning and check in to your hotel on Tuesday evening. If you are registering for Regular Conference, you should plan to arrive on Wednesday morning and check in to your hotel on Wednesday evening. ALL CONFERENCE SESSIONS WILL END BY 5:00 PM ON THURSDAY. For some attendees, that might require a Thursday night hotel stay, or not, depending on how far you need to drive home and your preferences.
Q: What is going on Friday at the conference center?
A: Only pre-registered exams will take place at the conference center. Attendees MUST register SEPARATELY from this website for their specific certification exams. NO TRAINING SESSIONS WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY THIS YEAR.
Q: How do I register for an exam?
A: Once you register for a water or wastewater operator certification ticket, a confirmation e-mail will be sent with all the instructions, links, and deadlines required for exam registration. Exam registration for at conference exams is handled directly with the respective state agency (DDW or DWQ).
Q: I missed the exam deadline for a water operator certification, what should I do?
A: Not a problem! Rural Water Assoc. of Utah works with the Division of Drinking Water to provide any water operator or cross connection control exams at our Bluffdale office or other locations. Visit https://www.rwau.net/proctored-exams for more information.
Q: I missed the exam deadline for a wastewater operator certification, what should I do?
A: Visit the DWQ certification website for future exam dates and information.
Q: When is the Drinking Water Board Meeting?
A: Thursday morning in the Garden Room.
Q: When does the Exhibit Hall open?
A: Wednesday morning.
Q: When is the Keynote Session?
A: We are no longer holding a Keynote Session at RWAU Annual Conferences. Instead, we are holding an "Opening Session and Awards Ceremony" on Wednesday morning to kickoff the conference!
Q: What is the Rural Water Service Project?
A: The Rural Water Service Project is new for 2025, where attendees can take a break from classes and assemble humanitarian kits for local families in need. The project will take place in the Garden Room on Wednesday afternoon. Supplies are funded by Women in Water sponsorships, and participating is free for attendees. Stay for a few minutes or an hour, the choice is yours.
Q: I have a food allergy/intolerance, will I be able to eat the provided meals at the conference?
A: The Dixie Convention Center can accommodate food allergies and intolerances, but we need to know ahead of time. Please e-mail kelsey.johnson@rwau.net to request allergy/intolerance meals for your time at the conference center.
