Job Description

The GIS Specialist serves as the primary administrator for the Company’s GIS mapping systems and GPS support operations. This role manages mapping databases, GIS infrastructure, document archives, and geospatial analysis supporting secondary water systems, canal operations, and long-term infrastructure planning.

What You Will Do
  • Administer and maintain GIS/GPS systems and mapping databases
  • Manage GIS software, equipment, upgrades, and technical support
  • Create digital and printed GIS layers for agencies and engineering partners
  • Maintain Blue Stakes mapping data and infrastructure updates
  • Organize and digitize easements, deeds, rights-of-way, and as-built plans
  • Perform geospatial analysis and geoprocessing tasks
  • Coordinate with field staff, agencies, and GIS consultants
  • Support long-term GIS planning and operational improvements
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems or related field
  • Minimum five years of GIS experience
  • Experience with ESRI Suite including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise
  • Strong understanding of GIS databases, GPS data collection, and mapping systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Access databases
  • Knowledge of PLSS mapping systems and coordinate systems
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Valid driver license with good driving record

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range is $65,662 – $99,573 annually depending on qualifications and experience. This position offers the opportunity to support and modernize critical regional water infrastructure systems through GIS technology and geospatial operations.
