The Water Treatment Operator for Potable Water also serves as a Maintenance Supervisor, planning, coordinating, and directing operational activities involving safe drinking water, septic and irrigation management, and general maintenance oversight for the working ranch and hotel. This position reports to the General Manager and requires a Utah Level III water certification or higher. - Plan, coordinate, administer, and evaluate operational projects, procedures, systems, and standards
- Develop work plans and ensure daily service requirements are met
- Maintain required state documentation and regulatory records
- Support development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and operating procedures
- Select, train, motivate, supervise, and evaluate assigned personnel
- Coordinate staff training and address performance deficiencies
- Monitor program performance and maintain cost-effective operations
- Develop goals related to water-system leadership, strategic planning, and operating procedures
- Develop, prepare, and administer operating and capital improvement budgets
- Forecast staffing, equipment, materials, and supply needs
- Monitor expenditures and implement budget adjustments
- Direct preparation of reports and review contracts, plans, specifications, and agreements
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, health and safety requirements, and fiscal and human resource practices
- Utah Level III Water Distribution certification or higher
- Five years of supervisory experience in water utility administration
- Experience with water distribution, production, recharge systems, backflow, electrical, telemetry, and/or conservation operations
- Five years of maintenance supervisory experience involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs at a comparable property
- Experience using handheld and large-scale power tools
- Knowledge of management and cost-accounting principles related to equipment and labor
- Experience with modern management practices, leadership, staff development, and coaching
- Ability to use modern office equipment and Google Workspace
- Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to interpret administrative policies and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Lift 50 pounds or more
- Walk for the duration of the shift
- Bend, stoop, kneel, and reach regularly
- Work around moderate noise levels
- Work outdoors year-round in extreme heat, cold, rain, and wind
- Support potable water, septic, irrigation, and general maintenance operations across a working ranch and resort environment
