Kaysville City Public Works maintains drinking water, storm drain, land drain, street, pressure irrigation, and sewer systems that support reliable municipal services throughout the community.
The Water Quality and Backflow Administrator oversees the City's Cross Connection and Water Quality monitoring programs. This position performs drinking water sampling, manages backflow compliance, coordinates with contractors and the public, and helps ensure City operations meet federal, state, and local requirements.
- Maintain the City's backflow inventory
- Inspect, track, and coordinate Cross Connection requirements
- Serve as the primary contact for backflow compliance and education
- Conduct drinking water sampling and water quality monitoring
- Coordinate laboratory testing and County Health Department results
- Provide daily status updates to the Drinking Water Manager
- Assist with maintenance and repair of water, sewer, storm drain, and irrigation systems
- Operate City-owned light and heavy equipment
- Participate in assigned emergency on-call periods
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum three years of related experience
- Backflow Program Administrator certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Grade 4 Water Operator certification preferred
- Knowledge of Cross Connection and drinking water requirements
- Strong public communication and customer service skills
- Ability to plan, assign, and direct work
- Valid Class A Utah Commercial Driver License
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Frequent local travel throughout the City
- Lifting approximately 40 to 60 pounds
- Work near mechanical equipment, wet conditions, chemicals, and electrical hazards
- Occasional work in elevated or difficult-to-access areas
- Emergency on-call assignments, including snow removal and utility response
