Developed in partnership with the Division of Water Rights, this program equips participants with the tools and knowledge needed to confidently manage applications, processes, and compliance requirements.

Curriculum
The certification curriculum is developed and taught by Division of Water Rights staff and industry professionals.

  • The Application Process (Start to Finish)
  • Change & Exchange Applications
  • Approval Criteria & Hearings
  • Public Inquiry & Filing Applications
  • Water Use Groups & Supplemental Rights
  • Public Water Supplier Issues
  • Field Services (Distribution & Adjudication)
  • Well Drilling
Exam Details

The Water Rights Certification Exam is an online, open-book exam consisting of 100 multiple-choice questions.

  • Available only after completing the certification course
  • 2-hour time limit
  • Minimum passing score: 70%
  • One free retake included

If both attempts are unsuccessful, the exam fee must be paid again to retake.

Certification Renewal
Certification must be renewed every 3 years by retaking the class and exam.
