Job Description

The Utility Systems Repairer-Operator installs, maintains, repairs, and operates a wide variety of utility systems including water treatment, wastewater, plumbing, electrical, SCADA, and distribution infrastructure. This role supports critical utility operations throughout Zion National Park while ensuring compliance with Federal, state, and local regulations.

What You Will Do
  • Operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment systems
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing and utility infrastructure
  • Monitor SCADA, telemetry, PLC, and control systems
  • Perform water quality testing and chemical treatment processes
  • Operate heavy equipment including loaders, backhoes, and trenchers
  • Install and repair utility distribution systems and service lines
  • Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs
  • Support safe utility operations throughout park facilities and infrastructure
What You Will Bring
  • Experience operating and maintaining utility systems
  • Knowledge of water treatment and distribution operations
  • Ability to troubleshoot plumbing, electrical, and utility equipment
  • Experience working with SCADA and utility monitoring systems
  • Ability to interpret specifications, blueprints, and technical instructions
  • Valid driver license and ability to operate utility vehicles and equipment
  • Strong safety awareness and regulatory compliance understanding
  • Ability to work independently and in physically demanding environments
Work Environment
  • Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions
  • Exposure to construction areas, treatment systems, and utility facilities
  • Frequent lifting, climbing, crouching, and physical labor
  • Potential exposure to chemicals, gases, electrical hazards, and noise
  • May require on-call work, overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Compensation & Benefits
