Professional Bio
Shannon Rasmussen serves as Executive Director of the Rural Water Association of Utah. Having spent more than 20 years with the Association, she has worked across a wide range of organizational functions and brings extensive experience in association management, finance, operations, event planning, human resources, communications, and strategic planning.
Shannon earned a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Brigham Young University, a Master of Business Administration from Western Governors University, and a second bachelor’s degree in Accounting from WGU. She also holds certifications in Water Distribution (Grade 3), Water Rights, Cross Connection Control Administration, and Utility Management. She has been recognized nationally for her commitment to member service, receiving the National Rural Water Association's Associate Programs Member Services Award of Excellence multiple times.
Throughout her career, Shannon has led initiatives in operational improvement, employee development, contract negotiation, publication management, training development, and organizational leadership. She remains dedicated to advancing the mission of the Rural Water Association of Utah and supporting the communities and systems it serves.
Shannon lives in Harrisville, Utah, with her husband, two daughters, and two very poorly trained golden doodles.
