Event Details

This training addresses and demonstrates BIG changes in the WW industry. Acoustic sound technology and a brand new sewer pipe named Perfect Products. We will finish the afternoon with BMP's (Best Management Practices) for Pretreatment with industries and Enforcement.

As Pretreatment Personnel and Wastewater Service Providers we need to be willing and able to work with industry to implement BMPs (Best Management Practices) as it relates to their discharges.  Restaurants can be a significant source of increased solids, grease, and H2S in our collections systems that can cause backups, line failure, and issues at the treatment plant.  Working with, and educating these customers can go a long way to improve the quality of their discharge and build relationships.

The day will come when we need to take enforcement action against an industrial user that discharges into our system and has violated in one way or another.  Do we have an enforceable program?  Has it been approved?  What are the steps we take?  In these situations knowing what to do is as important as knowing what we cannot do to keep ourselves on the right side of the law.
