This is a seasonal, non-benefited position with the City of Cedar Hills working approximately 40 hours per week from March - October. The Golf Irrigation Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining the golf course irrigation systems and reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent.
- Operating, maintaining and repairing a complex irrigation system, including leaks on the distribution lines, valve risers, electrical system, computer and irrigation control wire
- Performing preventative maintenance on the irrigation system
- Determining wet and dry areas for adjustments of sprinkler heads
- Maintaining proper inventories and stock of all irrigation parts and tools to minimize down time
- Routinely inspecting irrigation system components to ensure system is operating properly
- Performing other duties as required such as daily mowing, trimming and general golf course maintenance
- Maintain a working knowledge of pump station maintenance requirements and prioritizing irrigation breaks
- Utilizing safe work practices in job performance
- Able to work in outdoor conditions and perform strenuous manual labor
- Ability and skill in working as a team member
Required - Two years of experience with large irrigation systems
Preferred - Previous golf course maintenance experience
