Bona Vista Water District provides high-quality, reliable water service to the Farr West community. Our mission is to ensure safe, sustainable water delivery while maintaining a strong commitment to public health, environmental stewardship, and exceptional customer service.
- Perform maintenance, repair, and construction work on culinary water systems.
 - Operate maintenance and construction tools and equipment safely and effectively.
 - Collect water samples and inspect new construction for compliance with standards.
 - Operate and maintain wells, reservoirs, meters, valves, hydrants, and related systems.
 - Locate underground utilities, identify leaks, and conduct emergency repairs as needed.
 - Perform on-call duties with a 30-minute response time when scheduled.
 - Read and interpret maps, blueprints, and GIS data.
 - Ensure proper traffic control and worksite safety during field operations.
 
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
 - Valid driver’s license; must obtain CDL Class A within six (6) months of hire.
 - Must obtain a Grade I Water Distribution Operator certification within one (1) year.
 - Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate field tools and equipment.
 - Excellent communication and customer service skills.
 - Ability to work independently and as part of a team in varying weather conditions.
 
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and precipitation.
 - Frequent lifting and moving of objects up to 50 pounds; occasional lifting up to 70 pounds.
 - Regular physical activity including standing, walking, climbing, bending, and kneeling.
 - Exposure to varying noise levels and outdoor environmental factors.
 - Reasonable accommodation is available in accordance with ADA standards.
 
Starting pay: $18.87 – $28.31 per hour (depending on qualifications and experience). Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, retirement (URS), vacation, and sick leave.
