Moroni, UT | Sewer Operator Level 4

Under the direction of the Plant Superintendent, supervises the operation, maintenance and construction of various types of treatment plant facilities. Acts as operator on assigned shifts with full responsibility for facilities during that shift. Is responsible for all operations, maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical systems.

1.    Operate and perform maintenance on all equipment including electrical and mechanical apparatus used to operate a wastewater treatment plant.
2.    Interpret test results of wastewater and flow and makes required adjustment to insure optimum treatment and economic operation.
3.    Keep plant equipment clean and in top operating condition.  Perform or supervise required maintenance.  Make minor repairs and adjustments when necessary, assuming full responsibility for such operations.
4.    Remove and install large pumps and electrical motors.  
5.    Make various and periodic visual inspections to insure plant is operating at specified performance levels.  
6.    Discuss with superintendent various operations and procedures which occur during the shift.
7.    Will maintain tools and machinery in good condition and use all tools carefully and as instructed.
8.    Perform other duties as may be assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1.    Demonstrated ability to work with hands and to work in mechanically oriented situations following instructions, given either orally or in writing, of a supervisor.
2.    General knowledge of various types of equipment used in the building trades. 
3.    Ability to lift and properly move at least 60 lbs; good general physical condition. 
4.    Ability to run and interpret plant test results to insure proper operations.
5.    Ability to work well with supervisors and the public.
6.    Ability to work safe and report safety hazards.
