What is the compensation package?
Pay Rate: (G26, 27, 28) $24.84 - $37.76 per hour (depending on experience)

What will are the main duties?
- Assist with plant operations and processes involving preliminary treatment, primary sedimentation, filtering, sludge, solids, disinfection, digestion, and disposal.
- Maintain systems, processes, and records in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Clean and maintain machinery, equipment, lab space, and grounds.
- Prioritize preventative maintenance.
- Interpret data, diagnose issues, and develop solutions.
- Assist with training and supervision of other operators.
- Assist others as needed and perform other job duties as required.
What is the selection process?
This position is open until filled and will be closed when sufficient, qualified applications to proceed with a competitive selection process have been received (at least seven days). Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.
If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.

What are the minimum requirements?
At all levels:
- A high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- A valid, lawful Commercial Driver License (CDL) .
- Additional education may be substituted for experience as allowed by the State of Utah to qualify for unrestricted wastewater operator certification.
Operator I:
- One year of wastewater operator experience.
- AND Unrestricted Grade I Utah Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification.
Operator II:
- Two years of wastewater operator experience
- AND Unrestricted Grade II Utah Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification.
- OR Grade I Wastewater Treatment Operator certificate and 4 years of water/wastewater operator experience with Division Director approval.
Operator III:
- Four years of wastewater operator experience
- AND Unrestricted Grade III Utah Wastewater Systems Operator Certification.
- OR Grade | Wastewater Treatment Operator certificate and 6 years of water/wastewater operator experience with Division Director approval.
