Vineyard’s small team is growing rapidly! The Public Works team is seeking a Public Works Technician to support maintenance tasks requiring a wide range of entry-level skills, including installation and maintenance of city infrastructure in the public right of way, from park strips to pavement and the use of light and heavy-duty construction equipment.
Screening of candidates will begin as soon as qualified applications/resumes are received.
Pre-employment drug testing and background check are required.

Assist in daily maintenance of City infrastructure, park strips, and facilities

Execute general maintenance and construction tasks utilizing a variety of hand and power tools

Receive training in and proficiently operate both light and heavy equipment

Expertise in concrete work, including mixing, pouring, and finishing; proficient in asphalt laying; and responsive equipment maintenance

Install and manage sprinkling systems; contribute to litter cleanup in public spaces; participate in the overall maintenance of public areas

Maintain street pavement with patching, raking, and clear debris from gutters using shovels and sweepers

Responsibly manage the placement and removal of street signs, engage in street painting, and deploy and retrieve traffic cones

Assist in light facility and vehicle maintenance and repairs

Contribute to snow removal efforts and be available for after-hours on-call duties as required

Perform additional duties as necessary and directed

Two years of experience involving general maintenance with skills in irrigation, landscaping, construction equipment, and other related fields.
