The pre-apprenticeship program is a semester long course designed to give high school students an insight to careers available within the water industry. Throughout the course students will job shadow operators at their local water system, attend trainings by industry vendors, and complete a self-led online course from the Rural Water Association of Utah (RWAU). Students who complete the pre-apprenticeship program receive school credit and are short listed with the RWAU Apprenticeship Program after graduation and 18 years of age.

We are currently working with school districts and water systems throughout Utah to make the pre-apprenticeship program available statewide. If you would like to enroll as a pre-apprentice or find out how your school district or water system can get involved, please reach out to apprenticeship coordinator, Sonia Mull.
